About Me

I began my journey with flowers in 2017 after starting out in the event planning business. I had always loved buying flowers for myself and others, taking home the leftover stems after an event and making arrangements, spending time in the garden, and admiring the flower shops in my town.

During the pandemic, I decided to invest more time into my curiosity, even taking a professional course in Manhattan at FlowerSchool NY just for fun. I started to freelance as a designer and even began booking my own personal events on the side.

Working with fresh flowers and events made me realize how wasteful the industry can be, and how sad it is to throw beautiful flowers away. I always had a fascination with preservation and dried designs so in my spare time I started experimenting with drying and dying stems, pressing small clippings, and designing with dried/preserved flowers. This medium really resonated with me as I wanted to explore extending the life and beauty of flowers but also showcase how wonderful they can be even in their afterlife (dried state).

Here in my tiny corner of the internet, you’ll find a fun blend of fresh and dried designs. I take on a few fresh flower events a year, and have narrowed my focus on dried flowers to primarily pressing/framing.

Occasionally when inspiration strikes, I’ll add a few preserved or dried items to my online store. You can follow me on Instagram @afterlifefloral for updates on shop drops!
